Doesn't look like 10,000 feet to the top, does it? Home to some of Hawaii's ancient Gods, this is Mt. Haleakala, "House of the Sun". The "saddle" in the middle is Kaupo Gap, where the original lava flowed to form part of the island of Maui. Not to worry, this mighty volcano has been dormant for 200 years.
